Ogun State Govt Constitutes 29-Member Committee On Palliatives Distribution

A 29-member Central Working Committee (CWC), headed by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, saddled with the mandate for the distribution of palliatives in the state has been empanelled by Governor Dapo Abiodun. The composition of the Committee is aimed at ensuring that the palliatives reached every strata of the society, in line with the promise made to the people of the state by Governor Abiodun. A statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr Lekan Adeniran, noted that there will be a similar Committee at the local governments to ensure the seamless distribution of the palliatives. According to the statement, the Committee has the mandate to implement the various palliatives put in place by the state government for the citizens. The Youth Wing of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the appointment of Dayo Israel, as the Minister of Youth. Israel is the current national leader of the APC. President Tinubu on Monday sworn-in  45 new Ministers, but no minister was named for the  ministry of youth. The Youth Wing said since assuming office 18 months ago, Israel had the extensive international exposure, remarkable antecedents, impressive profile, and excellent leadership skills and was the best person for the position. NNPC Secures $3bn Oil-For-Cash Loan To Stabilise The Naira

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited has secured a $3 billion emergency crude repayment loan to support the naira and stabilise the foreign exchange market. NNPC Limited secured the crude-for-cash funding from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt. While the details are still sketchy, TheCable understands that the NNPC will repay the loan with crude oil at an interest rate between eight percent and 11 percent. “The NNPC Ltd. and  Afrexim Bank  have jointly signed a commitment letter and Termsheet for an emergency $3 billion crude oil repayment loan,” NNPC said in a terse statement on Wednesday. “The signing, which took place today at the bank’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, will provide some immediate disbursement that will enable the NNPC Ltd. to support the Federal Government in its ongoing fiscal and monetary policy reforms aimed at stabilizing the exchange rate market.” The loan will save Nigeria from approaching th...

Abiodun Approves Appointment Of Chief Press Secretary

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of Mr. Lekan Adeniran as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS). The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi on Tuesday. According to Mr. Talabi, the appointment takes immediate effect. Adeniran, a graduate of Mass Communication has over three decades experience as a journalist. He started his journalism career at The Guardian in 1992, where he covered the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Lagos State House of Assembly and Governor's Office, Alausa, Ikeja. He left The Guardian in 2001 to join the newly established Daily Independent. The new CPS also worked with the Compass, Next and National Mirror newspapers. Before the appointment, he was the editor of WesternPost, an online newspaper publication.
