Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Tuesday, met with the newly inaugurated members of the 10th Ogun State House of Assembly, with a promise to operate an open-door policy to all regardless of party affiliations, religion or tribe. Playing host to the members, who were led by the re-elected Speaker, Rt. Hon. The new members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have held their first sitting in line with the proclamation by Governor Dapo Abiodun following the inauguration of the 10th Assembly session with the immediate past Speaker, who is a lawmaker representing Ifo II State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo, re- elected as the Speaker, just as his Yewa South State Counterpart, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi emerged as the Deputy Speaker. Oluomo’s emergence followed the nomination of Musefiu Lamidi (Ado-Odo/Ota II) seconded by Hon. Ifedolapo Owode (Ijebu East) while the Deputy Speaker’s nomination was moved by Hon. President Bola Tinubu Appoints New Comptroller General of Customs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has on Monday 19 June 2022 appointed DCG Adewale Bashir Adeniyi as the new Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service. In a statement issued by the Director of Information, Mr. Willie Bassey on behalf of the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, the new Customs CG's appointment follows President Tinubu's approval and that of retirement of incumbent Service Chiefs and the appointment of new ones. The appointed Service Chiefs including that of the CGC are in acting capacity pending their confirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement added.   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, CFR, from office with immediate effect.  This is sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy. Mr Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of investigation and the reforms.

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the reappointment of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, for another term of office. This was confirmed through a statement issued in Abeokuta on Thursday by the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Information, Mr. Waheed Adesina. In the same vein, the government announced the reappointment of Dr. Toyin Taiwo as Governor Abiodun's Deputy Chief of Staff. The appointments, according to the statement, take immediate effect.

A statement made available to press members on Thursday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr Oluwatoyin Akinlade on behalf of the Federal Government congratulated all Nigerians on the occasion. Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun in line with sub-section (1) of Section 105 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has issued a proclamation for the dissolution of the 9th Ogun State House of Assembly with effect from 9th June, 2023. The Governor in the proclamation to the House dated 5th June noted that the dissolution, which was in accordance with the 1999  Constitution became effective at the expiration of a period of four years, commencing from the first day of the first sitting of the House.
