Abiodun Hosts Ogun Lawmakers, Pledges Open- Door Policy

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Tuesday, met with the newly inaugurated members of the 10th Ogun State House of Assembly, with a promise to operate an open-door policy to all regardless of party affiliations, religion or tribe. Playing host to the members, who were led by the re-elected Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, to the Governor's Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Prince Abiodun reminded them that politics is over, hence the need for all elective officials to join hands to serve the people. The governor appreciated the members for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during their proclamation and inauguration, noting that it was an indication that the State is peopled by those who know how to resolve their differences amicably. The new members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have held their first sitting in line with the proclamation by Governor Dapo Abiodun following the inauguration of the 10th Assembly session with the immediate past Speaker, who is a lawmaker representing Ifo II State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo, re- elected as the Speaker, just as his Yewa South State Counterpart, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi emerged as the Deputy Speaker. Oluomo’s emergence followed the nomination of Musefiu Lamidi (Ado-Odo/Ota II) seconded by Hon. Ifedolapo Owode (Ijebu East) while the Deputy Speaker’s nomination was moved by Hon. ( Mrs.) Olanrewaju Bakare (Ijebu Ode) and seconded by Hon. Kaka Olusegun (Ijebu North). President Bola Tinubu Appoints New Comptroller General of Customs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has on Monday 19 June 2022 appointed DCG Adewale Bashir Adeniyi as the new Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service. In a statement issued by the Director of Information, Mr. Willie Bassey on behalf of the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, the new Customs CG's appointment follows President Tinubu's approval and that of retirement of incumbent Service Chiefs and the appointment of new ones. The appointed Service Chiefs including that of the CGC are in acting capacity pending their confirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement added.
